POSITIVE EXPECTATION: DEVELOPING A GOOD REPORT
Matthew 12:34 states, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” This simply means what comes out of your mouth is a reflection of what is in your heart. Ephesians 4:29 states, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
It is imperative to consciously decide at this moment to speak only what is positive about yourself and your baby. Speaking positively is not simply trying to say the opposite of what is negative. It starts with knowing biblical truths so that you can set your mind on what God says versus what you think or feel. Let's say you visit your Obstetrician or Midwife and he/she informs you that that the yolk sac is present but the baby is not visible on the ultrasound just yet. You may be feeling disappointed and perhaps even a little worried; but if you take a minute to calmly think about it, you can change your perspective. The key word here is “yet”! This means your practitioner is aware that it may be too early to see the baby on the ultrasound. You put your faith in action when you set your mind on a positive expectation or outcome. With an optimistic mindset you are then able to speak words of life and expect a good report. Thus, in response to the doctor you may say, “great, so we will definitely be able to see the baby by my next visit!” Your faith treats what you hope for as a reality. As you remain steadfast in faith, hope for the best and trust God to help you every step of the way. |
Affirmations are truths about your identity in Christ. The scriptures reveal many of the truths God says about you. Declarations are the daily words of life you will speak over your pregnancy and your unborn child. When you make a declaration, you propel your faith in the direction you want to go.
It may seem redundant after a while to state the same phrases or prayers over and over again. However, this is an important way to get these words of life into your mind, your spirit, and your heart. Eventually what you have spoken and rehearsed will become a part of what you believe and expect. What you say stems from what is in your heart and what is in your heart stems from what you think. What better to have naturally flow out of your mouth than words of life, hope, and a positive outcome! DECLAREGod has made me a joyful mother; I rejoice with gladness everyday!
